Anyway while trying to install it recently on my Windows 7 machine I kept getting a 2739 error and wanted to shore how I fixed it since it was tricky to find information on the error for Windows 7 64-bit.

Here’s what you want to do:

Open the CMD window as an administrator – To do this click the Windows button, then search ‘cmd’, then right click and select ‘Run as Administrator’.

Next type ‘cd c:\windows\syswow64′ and press ENTER to change the directory.

Now type ‘regsvr32 jscript.dll’ and hit ENTER

Now type ‘regsvr32 vbscript.dll’ and hit ENTER

That should be it. Try the AdWords Editor install again and you should have no 2739 error.

After watching Tim Ferriss’ video on blogging I couldn’t help but give CrazyEgg a try and its pretty damn awesome.

I set up a mini test on FreshTrend.com which is another site that I run and the CrazyEgg software automatically tracks what visitors are doing on the page: where they click, what pages they go to next, where they came from, etc. It sounds on the surface like its not much different than Google Analytics, which is why I was skeptical. But Crazy Egg blows GA out of the water in terms of getting actionable results.

For example, this morning I setup a test of the site homepage to monitor the next 3,000 visitor and after just 300 so far I can already tell that I need to improve the bottom part of my pages since many people are actually reading through the whole post and then clicking the “Next” link (which is tiny). By making that bigger I bet I’ll drastically improve people clicking on that and thus keep them on the site longer. The beauty of CrazyEgg is that after I make that change I’ll be able to test it and see how well it works out.

Final analysis: Anyone serious about their blog should give CrazyEgg a try, even if you try for just 1 month you’ll learn a ton about your blog’s visitors.

While in general I am a huge fan of blogs and blogging platforms, there are some instances where you may want to make a website and a blog just won’t work for you. Usually this is the case if you want to have a more static look and feel to the site, for example a small business’ website should probably not be a blog and should instead have a more professional and consistent feel to it.

So what do you do in these instances? Well, there are a few different options, but far and away I’d suggest using a Content Management System, or CMS, to get the job done. Technically, blog platforms (Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad, etc.) are CMSs, but in this instance I’m going to focus on a CMS that would be a better fit for the job and that’s Joomla.

Joomla is a free open-source CMS that is widely used, supported and you can even get ramped up quickly with a ton of free templates built for Joomla. Learning Joomla does take some time and effort, but with a good template, you’ll be up and running quickly and the customization process will be fairly straightforward.
